Happy Mother's Day!

As a preschool teacher, I am compelled to have the children in my class make mother's day presents for dear mom, grandma, or whoever. This year I asked each of the children why they loved their Mom and what made her special. In honor of Mother's Day, and to all of you moms out there - here are the replies. (My class is four and five year olds)

"I love my mom because she is pretty and dresses up. I don't know where she got the earrings that are pretty diamonds. Mommy is beautiful!"

"I love my mommy because she is pretty and she lets me have treats. Mommy is special because I like her and she wears pretty clothes."

"I love my mom because she takes care of me. She is special because she came from Michigan. When she calls my name I come to her, and sometimes she makes me lunch."

"I love my mom because I give her hugs and kisses. She is special because I go shopping with her on Father's Day and she buys my daddy chocolate and stuffed animals."

"I show my mom I love her by giving her flowers and she says "I love you". And that's all I can say about I love my mom."

"I love my mommy because she's beautiful. Mommy is special because she's pretty."

(my favorite) "I love my mom because we have horses at our house. She is special because she makes me mashed potatoes but dad makes icky chicken with salt."

I typed the answers up and the kids made frames for them. I hope the moms all love them - I know their children are really proud of their answers.

My son on the other hand - he asked a friend to make a mother's day card for him to give to me. : )

Enjoy your special day!

LOL - I hadn't heard that Little Man outsourced for his Mom's Day card. He's going to be a mover and shaker one day, that one!
