Mississippi Squirrel Revival

I think my son has a 'gift'; he apparently has the ability to talk to squirrels.

I'm really wishing that I had my camera handy, video would have been even better, but alas, you just get to read my retelling of this odd little event.

This morning I was sitting down to eat breakfast with the Little Man when I noticed a squirrel in the backyard, 10 or so feet away from the door. I quickly steered the Little Man toward the window (because, naturally, he loves those pesky critters) to take a peak. He told me he wanted to go out and "say hi to him"; who am I to interfere so "Go for it" I say. The Little Man opened the door and began chirping/chattering at the squirrel (if you've ever heard a squirrel, you know that they sound more like a large bird than a small furry...rodent) and lowe and behold - that squirrel walked right up our steps, on to the deck, and perched himself on the sill of my door. I had to put my foot down to keep it from waltzing in to our house - as cute as he was, I knew that my home, was NOT where I wanted him to be.

The Little Man said that he was standing like this:

I immediately had visions running through my mind at warp speed - the squirrel climbing the Christmas tree, the two of us chasing him through the house, him inviting all his little squirrel friends and taking over our home. It's enough to make a person fear small animals for life.

I also had a vision of this:

And this song was playing like background music in my brain:

I think I will be sending off to this place and further the Little Man's abilities. Who knows, this could be his big break.

I was not familiar with that little diddy. That's quite the special gift your boy has. ;P

My ex husband could do that. We lived in Oklahom and had a lot of tall oak trees in our yard. He would go out in the backyard and make a clicking and chirping noise and they would come down from the trees. It helped that we fed them pecans and sunflower seeds I suppose. We even had one that would take pecans from out hand.Unfortunately she eventually met her demise by UPS truck.

YOu should get a bag of sunflower seeds (birdfood) and put some out there for them. Little Man would love that. They are so fun to watch.
